Toute louange appartient uniquement à Allah, le Tout-Puissant. Que la paix et la bénédiction soient sur le

Messager d’Allah, sa famille, ses compagnons fidèles et tous ceux qui les suivent.

Sur la base de la confirmation de l’observation du croissant lunaire, conformément au critère global d’observation de la lune, le Conseil des Imams d’Ottawa-Gatineau déclare par la présente que le premier jour du mois de Ramadan sera le mercredi 18 février 2026. En conséquence, les prières de Tarawih commenceront ce soir, le 17 février 2026, in sha Allãh.

Le mois de Ramadan, le mois du Coran et du jeûne, est un mois unique dans notre calendrier; il apporte non seulement d’immenses bénédictions d’Allah, mais aussi l’opportunité d’obtenir Son pardon et de faire preuve de bienveillance envers autrui. Le Conseil encourage chacun à participer dans la mosquée de son quartier, à tirer profit des prières en congrégation et à s’assurer la récompense promise par Allah.

SadaqatulFitr : Conformément aux enseignements du fiqh, la Sadaqatul Fitr a été fixée à un montant minimum de 10 $ par personne, à verser pour chaque membre du foyer, y compris les enfants mineurs. Ceux qui souhaitent donner davantage sont vivement encouragés à le faire, car aucun plafond n’est imposé à cette obligation.Afin que les bénéficiaires les plus nécessiteux puissent en profiter des le début du mois, le Conseil recommande à chacun d’acquitter la Sadaqatul Fit le plus tôt possible.

Alors que nous nous apprêtons à observer ce mois béni, le Conseil des Imams d’Ottawa-Gatineau adresse ses meilleurs vœux à tous les Canadiens et aux communautés musulmanes du pays. Nous implorons Allah d’agréer nos jeûnes, nos prières et nos bonnes actions, et qu’ll nous accorde Sa miséricorde infinie. Encourageons-nous mutuellement à rechercher la satisfaction d’Allah à travers la piété, la bienveillance, la générosité et le service à l’humanité.

All praise belongs solely to Allah, the Almighty. May peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his faithful companions, and all those who follow them.

Based on the confirmed sighting of the crescent moon, in accordance with the global moon sighting criterion, the Council of Imams of Ottawa-Gatineau hereby declares that the first day of the month of Ramadan will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Accordingly, the Tarawih prayers will begin this evening, February 17, 2026, in shā’ Allāh.

The month of Ramadan, the month of the Qur’an and fasting, is a unique month in our calendar; it brings not only immense blessings from Allah, but also the opportunity to attain His forgiveness and to show kindness toward others. The Council encourages everyone to attend their local mosque, to benefit from congregational prayers, and to secure the reward promised by Allah.

Sadaqatul Fitr: In accordance with the teachings of fiqh, Sadaqatul Fitr has been set at a minimum amount of $10 per person, to be paid on behalf of each member of the household, including minor children. Those who wish to give more are strongly encouraged to do so, as there is no maximum limit to this obligation. In order for the most needy beneficiaries to benefit from it from the very beginning of the month, the Council recommends that everyone pay their Sadaqatul Fitr as early as possible.

As we prepare to observe this blessed month, the Council of Imams of Ottawa-Gatineau extends its best wishes to all Canadians and to Muslim communities across the country. We implore Allah to accept our fasting, our prayers, and our good deeds, and to grant us His infinite mercy. Let us encourage one another to seek Allah’s pleasure through piety, kindness, generosity, and service to humanity.
