Afin de se concentrer sur les objectifs supérieurs de la charia et de promouvoir l’unité dans la communauté locale, le Conseil des imams d’Ottawa-Gatineau (le Conseil) a décidé d’aligner la célébration de l’Aïd al-Adha sur le jour de ‘Arafah. En conséquence, le Conseil a accepté que le premier jour de Dhul Hijjah soit le lundi 19 juin 2023, comme annoncé officiellement pour le Hajj. Par conséquent, in Sha’ā Allah, l’Aïd al-Adha sera célébré le mercredi 28 juin 2023.
Au nom de la communauté musulmane d’Ottawa-Gatineau, le Conseil adresse ses meilleurs vœux à tous les Canadiens et à tous les musulmans en ces jours propices du Hajj et de l’Aïd al-Adha. Le Conseil exhorte chacun à faire preuve de générosité et à veiller sur ceux qui sont dans le besoin, chez eux et dans le monde. Le Conseil demande également aux membres de la communauté de soutenir les banques alimentaires locales et de partager la viande sacrifiée avec leurs amis et voisins.

With a view to focusing on the higher objectives of the Shari’āh and fostering unity in the local community, the Council of Imams of Ottawa-Gatineau (the Council) has resolved to align observation of Eid al-Adha following the day of ‘Arafah. Accordingly, the Council has accepted the first of Dhul Hijjah to be Monday, June 19, 2023, as announced officially for the Hajj. Therefore, In Sha’ā Allah, Eid al- Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
On behalf of the Muslim community of Ottawa-Gatineau, the Council extends its best wishes to all Canadians and Muslims on these auspicious days of Hajj and Eid al-Adha. The Council urges everyone to be generous and to look out for those in need at home and around the world. The Council is also asking the community members to support our local food banks and share the sacrifice meat with friends and neighbours.
